Fazer uma declaração formal sobre o que você sabe, especialmente em um tribunal. Também pode significar mostrar ou provar que algo existe ou é verdade.
Usage Notes (Portuguese (BR))
É usado principalmente em contextos legais: 'testify in court' ou 'testify before Congress'. Em linguagem formal, também pode significar 'servir como prova de', como em 'The results testify to her hard work'. Não confunda com 'say', que é muito mais geral e menos formal.
