Definition

কিছু জিনিসকে শক্ত করে চেপে ধরা বা নিচে নামানো। এছাড়াও কোনো অনুভূতি বা উত্তেজনা কমানো বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

আক্ষরিক অর্থে (মাটি বা কফি চেপে ধরা), আবার বিশেষ করে আবেগ/উত্তেজনা কমাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়। সাধারণত 'tamp down anger' বা 'tamp down excitement' বলতে পাওয়া যায়।
