'takes' (तीसरे पुरुष एकवचन) का एक पुराना या शास्त्रीय रूप, बाइबिल और शेक्सपीयर की अंग्रेज़ी में प्रयोग होता है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

बहुत औपचारिक, पुराना और सांकेतिक; आधुनिक अंग्रेज़ी में इसका प्रयोग लगभग नहीं होता, केवल उद्धरण, धार्मिक या साहित्य में मिलता है। सामान्य रूप में 'takes' बोलें। प्रचलित वाक्यांशः 'the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away.'
