現実が変わるほどの衝撃的な真実を知ることを選ぶこと。元々は映画『マトリックス』が由来。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

ネットスラングや大衆文化で「真実に目覚める」ニュアンスで使う。皮肉や冗談で使われる場合も多い。時に政治的意味を帯びるので注意が必要。「take the blue pill（快適さを選ぶ）」が反対の意味。相手を見下すニュアンスでは使わないようにしましょう。
