यह मान लेना कि कुछ पहले से ही ज्ञात, समझा या सहमत है, बिना चर्चा या पूछे।

मुख्य रूप से ब्रिटिश अंग्रेज़ी में, औपचारिक बैठक या लिखित संदर्भ में प्रयोग। आमतौर पर 'can/could/let's take as read' में आता है। 'take for granted' से भिन्न है।
