群れ大群

Definition

昆虫や動物、人々の大きな集まりが同じ方向に動くこと。特に蜂などの飛ぶ虫によく使われますが、人にも例えられます。

主に昆虫に使われますが、人や動物の群れにも比喩的に使えます。「swarms of～」で動きの多い集団を表します。「herds」（陸上動物）や「flocks」（鳥や羊）とは使い方が異なります。

Swarms of bees flew over the garden.

蜂の**群れ**が庭の上を飛んでいった。

There were swarms of mosquitoes near the lake.

湖の近くには蚊の**大群**がいた。

The city was filled with swarms of tourists.

街は観光客の**群れ**でいっぱいだった。
