Definition

自分の中から勇気や力、思い出などを奮い起こしたり呼び起こしたりすること。

抽象的なもの（勇気・思い出など）に使われることが多い。「summon up courage」「summon up memories」などの形で使う。物理的なものには使わない。

I had to summon up all my courage to speak in public.

人前で話すために、全ての勇気を**奮い起こさなければ**ならなかった。
