誰かをお世辞などで必要以上に立てて、気分よくさせたり満足させたりすること。相手を喜ばせたり操るためによく使われます。

カジュアルでやや皮肉やユーモアを含む言い方です。「ただあなたの自尊心をくすぐっているだけ」といった表現でよく使われます。フォーマルな場では控えましょう。
