등자스터럽(의료용)

Definition

말 안장 양 옆에 달려 있어 발을 올리는 금속 고리나 틀. 진료 시에 발을 올리는 장치를 가리키기도 한다.

주로 말타기에서 사용되며, 의학적으로도 쓰임. 항상 좌우 한 쌍으로 쓰임. 'stir up'(섞다)와 혼동하지 않도록 주의.

The rider put his foot in the stirrup before climbing on the horse.

기수는 말에 타기 전에 발을 **등자**에 넣었다.

Be careful not to lose your stirrup while riding.

말을 타는 동안 **등자**에서 발이 빠지지 않게 조심하세요.
