차를 빠르게 하려고 가속페달을 밟는 것. 비유적으로 어떤 일이나 상황에서 속도를 높이라는 뜻으로도 쓰인다.

Usage Notes (Korean)

원래 운전에서 쓰이지만, 일이나 상황을 재촉할 때도 자주 사용. 'step on it'과 같은 의미이며, 친근한 느낌이 있다.
