Definition
速記とは、通常の単語の代わりに記号や省略形を使って、素早く書き取るための方法です。主に話し言葉をそのまま記録する際に使われます。

主に裁判所やビジネス、報道の現場などで使われる専門的な言葉です。現在は音声録音が主流ですが、書面記録が必要な場面では今も使用されます。「速記を学ぶ」や「速記者」といった表現がよく使われます。
