誰かや何かを素早く、こっそりと見ること。他の人にバレたくないときに使う表現です。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

物語や文章でよく使われます。堂々と見るのではなく、控えめに、気付かれないように見る時に用います。「じっと見る」とは違い、一瞬の動作です。
