はっきり見えなかったり、明るすぎるときに目を細めて何かを見ること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に明るさや見にくさで目を細めて見る時に使う。必ず物や人を後ろにつける（例：squint at the clock）。“stare”や“glance”と違い、目を細めて見る表現。
