誰かと戦う、または競い合うために準備し、相手に立ち向かうこと。討論や試合などの場面でも使われる。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主にカジュアルな場面（スポーツ・討論・けんか）で使う。「square off against」「square off with」の形が多い。親しい交流には使わない。

Examples

The two boxers will square off tomorrow night.
