কিছু হঠাৎ বা সহজেই মনে এলে, সেটাকে বোঝানো হয়। সাধারণত কোনো চিন্তা বা ধারণা ঝটিতি মনে আসে।

অফিসিয়াল বা লেখ্য ভাষায় না বলে, বন্ধুদের সাথে কথোপকথনে ভালো; প্রায়ই 'the first thing that springs to mind' বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
