Definition

物や仕事・時間などを面や期間・場所などに広げたり、分けたりすること。実際に広げる場合や、抽象的に分散する場合にも使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

資源や仕事を期間や場所に分ける時によく使います。受動態（“is spread over”）もよく出ます。“spread out”は物理的な広がりで、意味が異なります。
