সব তথ্য ছাড়াই কিছু সম্পর্কে ধারণা বা তত্ত্ব তৈরি করা, প্রায়ই অনুমানের মাধ্যমে।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

আংশিক ফরমাল; সাধারণত গুজব, তত্ত্ব বা ভবিষ্যৎ সম্ভাবনা নিয়ে আলোচনা করার সময় ব্যবহৃত হয় ('speculate about the reasons', 'speculate about the outcome')। বৈজ্ঞানিক বা তথ্যভিত্তিক ব্যাখ্যার জন্য নয়। 'guess' অপেক্ষা কিছুটা আনুষ্ঠানিক।
