Definition
Algo que ha dejado de arder, brillar o existir; comúnmente para apagar una vela o terminar algo. En jerga, también puede significar asesinado o destruido.
Usage Notes (Spanish)
Literalmente formal (fuego, vela), informal o jerga cuando se usa para matar ('snuffed out'). Suele ir en voz pasiva: 'The candle was snuffed.' Se usa mucho en la frase 'snuffed out' para hablar de terminar con vida, esperanza o luces. No confundir con el tabaco de rapé ('snuff', sustantivo).
