मुख्यतः विशेषण के रूप में भूभाग, छत, सड़क आदि का वर्णन करने के लिए उपयोग होता है। 'sloping roof', 'sloping land' जैसे शब्दों के साथ आम है—सीधे या समतल स्थानों के लिए नहीं।
