Definition

ある目標や願いを達成しようと努力すること。特に大きな目標に使われることが多い。

'Shoot for'はカジュアルな言い方で、大きな目標や夢に向かって努力する時によく使います（例：“shoot for the stars”）。'shoot'（撃つ）とは意味が違います。名詞と一緒に使われます。

You should shoot for the best grade in your class.

クラスで一番良い成績を**目指す**べきだよ。
