“shoal” 指水体中的浅水区，如靠近岸边的沙洲，也可指大量鱼群一起游动。

“shoal” 可以指沙洲（地理用语）或鱼群（英式英语中常用）。美式英语更常说 “school of fish” 表示鱼群。不要和 'shallow'（浅的，形容词）或 'school'（鱼群，美式用法）混淆。
