石鹸や水と一緒に、ブラシやスポンジで物や体を力強く徹底的にこすってきれいにすること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

カジュアルな表現で、すごく徹底的に物理的に掃除や洗浄する時に使います。『the kitchen』『the floors』のような場所、または手術前の消毒などに使われます。単なる『wash』より強い意味。抽象的には使いません。
