Definition

誰かを急に、強引に起こしたり立ち退かせたりすること。特に寝ている人を無理やり起こすときによく使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

過去形で使われることが多く、やや堅い印象があります。警察や当局によって強制的に起こされたり移動させられたりする状況で使います。優しく起こす場合には使いません。
