"Refurbish" es formal y se usa mucho para edificios, muebles, electrónicos o artículos usados que se restauran o mejoran. Es diferente de "repair" (solo arreglar), ya que implica actualizar o modernizar también. Se combina con frases como 'refurbish a house', 'refurbished laptop', 'recently refurbished'. No se usa solo para limpiar superficiales.
