とても強くて不快なにおいを発している様子。ごみや汗、煙などの嫌なにおいに使われます。

主にくだけた表現で、強烈で不快なにおいに使われます。「reeking of ...」のように、何のにおいかを具体的に言うときも多いです。良い香りには使いません。
