둘 이상의 사람이나 사물을 다시 화해시키거나 잘 지내게 하는 것. 또한, 서로 다른 기록이나 계정을 맞추는 것.

주로 공식적, 회계, 개인적 관계에서 사용된다. 'reconciling accounts'는 장부 맞추기, 'reconciling differences'는 갈등 조정을 의미한다.
