Definition
コンピューターや電子機器の電源を一度切ってから再度入れ直し、新たに動かすこと。作品や映画の場合は、前の話を引き継がず完全に新しく作り直すことも指す。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
主にIT用語として使われる（“reboot the computer”）。映画や物語では「リブート」は続編ではなく、全面的な新シリーズを指す。フォーマルな文章では避けるべき。'restart'と似るが、“reboot”はより完全な再起動の時に使われやすい。
