누군가가 어떤 일에 대해 걱정하거나 두려워할 때, 위로나 정보를 주어 안심시키는 것.

주로 공식적이거나 위로가 필요한 상황에서 씀. 'reassure her about the exam'처럼 사용되며 'assure'(약속하다)와는 다름. 대체로 걱정이나 두려움과 관련됨.
