Definition

특정 시기나 상황(전쟁, 재난 등)에서 식량이나 물품이 정해진 양만큼 배분되거나, 무엇인가의 공급을 제한하는 것을 의미함.

'배급'은 전쟁, 긴급상황, 물자 부족 시 자주 쓰임. '배급표'는 정부에서 배급받을 때 필요. 동사로 쓰일 때는 '식량을 배급하다'처럼 사용.

Each family received a weekly ration of rice.

각 가족은 매주 쌀 **배급**을 받았다.
