率や割合は、何かの量や価格、時間ごとの単位や他との関係を表します。動詞の場合は、何かを評価したり採点したりする意味もあります。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

数学やビジネス、健康、日常会話で 'interest rate'（金利）、'birth rate'（出生率）、'hourly rate'（時給）、'exchange rate'（為替レート）などの形でよく使われます。動詞の場合、評価やレビューで使われます：'How would you rate the movie?'。'ratio'（比率）とは異なりますので注意してください。
