ある条件や要件を満たして、仕事や特典、賞などを受ける資格があること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

仕事、奨学金、コンテスト、支援制度などの条件を満たす場合によく使われます。必ず後ろに具体的な対象が続きます（例：'qualify for a scholarship'）。単独の 'qualify' とは意味が異なります。
