अंग्रेज़ी के ब्रिटिश रूप में अधिक प्रचलित, सामान्यतः अनौपचारिक और गपशप या नकारात्मक अफवाहें फैलाने के लिए। अमरीकी अंग्रेज़ी में कम सामान्य। अक्सर 'put it about that...' जैसे वाक्यों में मिलता है। अन्य 'put about' प्रयोग से न मिलाएँ।
