बहुत औपचारिक और शैक्षिक; अक्सर 'is predicated on' के रूप में आता है। आम तौर पर निबंध, अनुसंधान या विश्लेषण में दिखता है। अनौपचारिक बातचीत में इस्तेमाल नहीं होता। 'Dependent on' या 'based on' से भ्रम हो सकता है।
