Definition

বারান্দা হচ্ছে একটি ভবনের প্রবেশদ্বার বা পাশে যুক্ত ছাউনি দেওয়া খোলা জায়গা, যেখানে মানুষ বাইরে বসতে বা বিশ্রাম নিতে পারে তবে বৃষ্টিবাদল বা রোদ থেকে রক্ষা পায়।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

'বারান্দা' শব্দটি বাংলা ও দক্ষিণ এশিয়ার ঘরবাড়িতে খুবই পরিচিত। 'ফ্রন্ট বারান্দা' এবং 'ব্যাক বারান্দা' বিশেষভাবে উল্লেখ করা যায়; ‘পর্চ’ ও ‘ডেক’ সম্পূর্ণ এক নয়।
