"ponder on"은 다소 격식 있고 주로 글, 진지한 대화에서 사용함. 주로 문제, 아이디어처럼 추상적인 대상과 함께 쓰임. 단순히 'think about'보다 깊은 생각을 나타냄. 사람에는 거의 쓰이지 않음.
