布や服に、きれいに繰り返し折り目がつけられている状態を指します。主にスカートやパンツなどに使われます。

主に「pleated skirt（プリーツスカート）」「pleated trousers（プリーツ入りパンツ）」など衣類に使います。シワやフリルとは異なり、意図的で整然とした折り目を指します。
