본의 아니게 상대방이나 다른 사람에게 유리하게 행동하다. 실수나 잘못된 판단으로 그들의 입장을 더 좋게 만드는 경우에 쓴다.

정치, 비즈니스, 경쟁 상황에서 많이 쓰며, 실수를 통해 타인에게 유리해질 때 씀. '상대의 손에 놀아나지 마'처럼 조언할 때도 사용함.
