‘চিমটি’ মানে আঙুল দিয়ে হালকা চেপে ধরা, বা অল্প সামান্য কোনো কিছু, যেমন—লবণের অল্প পরিমাণ।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

রান্নায় 'two pinches of salt' মানে দুইবার অল্প পরিমাণে লবণ দিন। ছোট চিমটি দিয়ে আদর বা মজা করতেও বোঝায়। 'in a pinch' বলে কথাটা সমস্যার পরিস্থিতিতেও ব্যবহার হয়, কিন্তু সেটা অন্যান্য মানে থেকে আলাদা।
