"Pertain" औपचारिक शब्द है, अक्सर शैक्षिक, कानूनी या तकनीकी संदर्भों में मिलता है। आमतौर पर "pertain to" (से संबंधित) के रूप में आता है। इसे "retain" (संभालना) से न मिलाएँ। साधारण बातचीत में नहीं सुना जाता।
