Lanzar cosas a alguien o algo de manera repetida y fuerte, o golpear con muchos objetos, como lluvia o piedras.

Normalmente se usa para describir lanzar cosas de forma rápida y repetida, a menudo con enojo ('pelted with stones'). También se usa para lluvias fuertes ('la lluvia pelted down'). Es informal y no se usa para lanzamientos suaves o únicos.
