主に見た目や衣装、才能などで審査される競技やショーのこと。特に美人コンテストを指すことが多い。

「コンテスト」は特に美人コンテストを指すことが多く、たまに華やかなショーやパレードも含む。カジュアルでは「ショー」や「大会」とも言う。才能だけの大会には使わない。
