किसी चीज़ का महत्व या प्रभाव बढ़ा-चढ़ाकर बताना, या बहुत ज़्यादा नाटकीय तरीके से पेश आना।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

यह शब्द सामान्य या औपचारिक दोनों ही संदर्भों में प्रयोग होता है। अभिनय में मतलब है कि किसी भूमिका को बहुत ज़्यादा नाटकीय बना देना। 'overreact' (बहुत भावुक प्रतिक्रिया देना) से न भ्रमित करें। आम संयोजन: 'overplay your hand', 'overplay a role'।
