'반대편'과 '건너편'은 어떤 것의 맞은편이나 경계를 넘어 있는 쪽을 의미합니다. 새로운 시각이나 변화 이후의 상황을 뜻하는 비유적 의미로도 쓰입니다.

물리적(공간, 경계)과 비유적(시각, 상황) 모두에 쓰입니다. 'the other side of the story' 같은 표현에서 자주 사용되며, 복수형은 거의 쓰지 않습니다. 'another side'와 구분하세요.
