আদালতে সাক্ষী যখন আদালতের নির্দিষ্ট স্থানে বসে সাক্ষ্য দেন, সেই অবস্থাকে বোঝায়।

শুধুমাত্র আইনি পরিস্থিতিতে ব্যবহৃত হয়। সাধারণত সাক্ষীদের ক্ষেত্রেই প্রযোজ্য; 'আসামি'র জন্য নয়। যেমন: 'সাক্ষী ডাকে ওঠানো হয়েছে', 'সাক্ষী ডাকে জবানবন্দি দিয়েছে'।
