乳母（うば）や子守り（こもり）は、他人の赤ちゃんや小さな子供の世話をする女性で、特に昔の裕福な家庭で使われていた言葉です。現代ではほとんど使われません。

今の日本語ではほとんど使われず、歴史や昔話などで見る言葉です。現代の「ベビーシッター」や「保育士」とは違います。
