어떤 일이 일어났을 때, 그 이유를 알고 있으니 놀랄 일이 아니라고 할 때 쓴다. 이해와 공감을 표현할 때 사용한다.

주로 말할 때 문장 앞에 쓰이며, 상대방을 이해하거나 공감할 때 쓴다. 너무 강한 감정보다는 가벼운 놀람이나 이해를 나타냄.
