Definition
Um minster é uma igreja grande e importante, especialmente na Grã-Bretanha, geralmente com significado histórico ou religioso. Alguns minsters também são catedrais, mas nem todos.

"Minster" é usado principalmente no Reino Unido para referir igrejas históricas, como York Minster ou Westminster. Não é um termo geral para igreja. Não confundir com "minister" (ministro). Frequentemente aparece em nomes de igrejas, com maiúscula.
