Minster 是在英国常见的大型重要教堂，通常具有历史或宗教意义。有些 minster 也是大教堂，但不是全部都是。

“Minster” 主要用于英国，指像约克大教堂 (York Minster) 或威斯敏斯特 (Westminster) 这样有历史的教堂。不是所有教堂都叫 minster。不要与“minister”（牧师或部长）混淆。常常出现在教堂名称中且首字母大写。
