이 용어는 배에서 앞(선수)와 뒤(선미) 사이의 중앙 부분을 의미합니다.

선박에서만 쓰이며 'at midships', 'amidships'는 모두 중앙을 의미합니다. 명령에서 'midships'는 조타기를 가운데로 맞추라는 뜻입니다. 다른 탈것에는 사용하지 않습니다.
