觀看一件事或某種情況，但不參與其中。

常指人在現場但不參與，可能帶有“袖手旁觀”的語氣；不要和 'look for'（尋找）或 'look at'（看）混淆。'look on as...' 是另一個常見結構，意思不同。

Many people looked on as the firemen worked.
